Albert Roker is an American journalist and television host. He is currently the climate anchor for NBC’s Today. Rocker is also a writer and an actor. He spent a significant amount of time working for NBC. He’s also a co-host of The Third Hour Right Now. Plaza is currently being renamed “Rockefeller Plaza” in his honor.

Biography

Albert was born on August 20th, 1954. His birthplace is Queens, New York City, in the United States. His mother’s name was Isabel, and his father’s name was Albert Lincoln Roker Senior. Isabel was of Caribbean descent. Albert was of Bahamian heritage and worked as a beginning driver. Isabel practiced the Catholic faith, which his son Lincoln adopted. Roker’s early fascination was with cartoons.

Al Roker attended the Xavier Excessive Faculty in Manhattan. Being a member of an active membership at the university, Roker was involved in a variety of cartooning and drawing projects. Albert transferred from Xavier Extra Faculty to the State College of New York in a department at Oswego. In 1976, he studied and completed it. The same year, he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications.

While attending SUNY Oswego, Al Roker worked as a weather anchor for CBS station WHEN-TV (now WTVH) in Syracuse, New York, from 1974 to 1976. While at Oswego, he also worked as a DJ for the campus radio station, WNYO.

Al Roker’s NBC career began in 1978, when he worked for WKYC in Cleveland, which was owned and operated by NBC at the time. After five years in Cleveland, Roker was promoted to the network’s flagship station, WNBC-TV.

Al Roker returned to New York City as a weekend weathercaster in late 1983 and quickly rose to become the station’s regular nightly weathercaster within eight months.
