The sword was delivered to King Charles III during his coronation at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6, 2023, by Portsmouth North MP Penny Mordaunt, who is also the Lord President of the Council. Following a declaration by the archbishop, the sword was briefly clipped to the King’s coronation sword belt.
