Chinonso Arubayi is a popular Nigerian actress, television presenter, film and television producer, model, and mental health advocate.
She is best known for her roles in the Nollywood films “My Flatmates and Rumour Has It“, and her film production debut, I Am Nazzy, alongside IK Ogbonna and Jidekene Achufusi. She is also known for the time she hosted the “Urban Kitchen Show.”

Born on May 24, 1987, Chinonso Arubayi was born in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. She grew up in Lagos, and is of Igbo heritage, from Awka, Anambra State.
Chinonso attended the University of Lagos, where she graduated with a degree in Mass Communication. While at university, she was a presenter on the campus radio station. In 2005, she won the Miss Teen Nigeria title.
After graduating from university, Chinonso began her career in the entertainment industry. She started out as a presenter on the TV show Urban Kitchen, and then went on to star in a number of TV series and movies, including My Flatmates, Rumour Has It, The Wedding Party, and Skinny Girl in Transit.

Chinonso and Eric’s marriage was tragically cut short when Eric passed away in 2017. He was only 34 years old.

Career
Chinonso Arubayi debuted as a day player on the M-Net television series The Johnsons in 2014. She subsequently began writing and producing for Consolidated Media Associates, the parent company of Sound City, Trybe TV, and Spice TV, on shows such as On The Couch, Project Swan, You’ve Got Issues, and a few others.
Chinonso enrolled in Pan Atlantic University’s School of Media Studies in 2018, where she studied the Business of Film Making for film producers. Arubayi got her big break in 2020 when she landed the lead role in Mary Remmy Njoku’s feature film Beyond Pardon.
Chinonso has since appeared in a number of important films and television shows, including Rumour Has It on NDANI TV, My Flatmates, Crazy Grannies, Lockdown, Loving Amanda, Survivors, and others.
She began presenting the Filmhouse TV Show in 2018, and she was then revealed as the host of the popular cooking show, Urban Kitchen, which she hosted for two seasons.
Chinonso’s debut feature production, I Am Nazzy, was released in April 2022. Kayode Peters directed the film, which starred renowned Nigerian actors such as Jimmy Odukoya, Denrele Edun, and IK Ogbonna.
Fans and critics praised her performance as the lead character in Africa Magic TV’s original series, Sisi Eko.
