Ugochi Onuoha, professionally known as Guchi, is a Nigerian musical talent. She was born in Kaduna State on November 5, 1997.
Guchi is the second of four children born in Mbaise, Imo State. She was born in Kaduna, Kaduna State, but grew up in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.
When she was seven, she began singing in her church choir and for her grandparents, and she credits Michael Jackson, a favorite of her father’s, as an early inspiration.
She began her academic studies at Edo State academic; as of April 2019, she was studying Theatre and Media Arts part-time at the University of Lagos after transferring to Lagos.

Her professional career as a singer began in 2012, and she is known for her work in the genres of Afropop, dance hall, and high life.
In April of 2019, she released her first single, which was titled “No Be Jazzy.” After securing a recording contract with PG Records Entertainment, she issued “Addicted” later that same year, then “Closer,” and finally, in October of the following year, a 5-track EP titled I Am Guchi, which featured that song.
She initially released “Jennifer” in February 2021, which later became the subject of a viral challenge on TikTok. The song was later re-released in June 2021 in a remixed version that featured the Tanzanian artist Rayvanny.
The song “Benzema,” which was named after the French footballer Karim Benzema made its debut in October 2021 at position number three on the Billboard Top Triller Global Chart. She was featured on Rayvanny’s “Sweet” in 2022, and she released “Shattered” in March of that same year.
She was appointed as a National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ambassador in January of 2020, and her term will last for two years.
