Kelly Ogle was born on January 1, 1962, in Edmon, Oklahoma, to a journalist family.
Jack Ogle, his father, was a seasoned TV journalist who worked for NBC affiliate WKY-TV. Kelly earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Oklahoma State University. His mother, Ann Ogle, was a former Oklahoma Senate employee and manager of the Oklahoma Historical Bookshop Society.
He was the youngest of three brothers, both of whom work in the media and television industries. They all succeeded after following in their father’s footsteps.

In 1984, WKY radio in Oklahoma City hired Kelly Ogle as a newsreader. After four years at WKY, he became a reporter for the 1988 Oklahoma News Report of the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA), where he and his brother Kent covered interesting Oklahomans and places in “On the Oklahoma Road.”
Ogle became a KTVY assignment reporter in 1989. On October 15, 1990, Ogle became the CBS affiliate’s midday newscast anchor, company reporter, and consumer/investigative reporter for “I-on-Oklahoma.” In June 1993, he moved to 5:00 p.m. newscasts
Kelly hosted “My 2 Cents,” a Monday-through-Thursday op-ed segment, at 10:00 p.m. in 2005. Newscast Monday through Thursday nights featuring an editorial “open topic” part, Your 2 Cents. (Jack Ogle made similar comments on KWTV in the late 1970s and early 1980s after leaving WKY-TV.).
